Tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculentum)

Start indoors about 2 months prior to transplanting outdoors after evening temperatures are above 10 oC. Sow .-1/2 inch (0.5-1 cm) deep in mid-sized pots unless you plan to repot once root bound. The use of bright light (i.e. a grow lamp) is highly suggested to avoid legginess. Transplant plants so that they are approx 20 inches (50 cm) apart or in large pots. Determinate = bush, cages are suggested. Indeterminate = vine, tie to stakes or suspended rope
