Peppers have as many uses as there are types – fresh as a snack, in salad or on sandwiches, cooked in soups, stews and stir fries or preserved in dried form or canned. Sow indoors .-1/2 inch (0.5-1 cm) well ahead of last frost in mid-sized pots. Do not transplant outdoors until evening temperatures are above 10-12 oC and they have been acclimatized or they will shock. Separate plants by about 1 foot (24 cm).
These Persian peppers are sweet when about 1-1 1/2 inches (3 cm) and become hotter as they grow, eventually turning red. Gloves are suggested for handling red Kurdish peppers and the longer (greater than 1 . inch or 4 cm) green peppers as their heat is on par with classic hot peppers especially when red. Grow on compact bushes that are cold tolerant once established
(causes black stripping and increased heat in fruit). Peppers may be pickled.
