This lemon flavoured herb is also known as Moldavian lemon balm and is common in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. It may be dried to use as a lemon substitute or distilled to give a lemon flavoured oil. Bees and hummingbirds love its edible purple-pink flowers and is self-seeding if flower heads are not pinched or eaten.
