As a mixture of five colour silverbeet and fordhook giants, this makes for a showy display a few feet high if allowed to grow
to maturity during summer. They will withstand the cooler fall temperatures (to about -5oC) and if only the leaves are trimmed with
stalks left late in season they can double as Halloween decoration. When the leaves are picked small, they make for nice salad
greens. Once larger, the leaves have a stronger flavour and are best cooked as per spinach or as substitute ‘wrappers’ for
grape leaves in dolma or cabbage leaves in rolls. Sow . inch or 1 cm deep with rows 1 . feet or 45 cm apart. Thin to 5-10
inches or 15-25 cm apart depending on the size you want at harvest. Reasonably rabbit resistant.
