Zucchini (Summer squash – Curcubita pepo)The big bushy plants with large leaves like to shelter the yummy zucchini’s hiding at their base – miss one and you will come back to a zucchini the size of your arm! Direct sow 3 seeds 1 inch (2 cm) deep or begin indoors and transplant after last frost and thin to the strongest plant. Space seedling mounds well apart (i.e. 2-4 feet or 60-120 cm). Flowers have both male and female (zucchini shaped bulb prior to leaves) – each plant will produce flowers of both types. Bush plants will continue to produce zucchini as long as they are picked and flowers are edible.

Yellow ( 5-10 Seeds)

These are easy to spot under the leaves of the plant and super tasty. Skin of larger yellow zucchini’s doesn’t tend to be as thick as green.
