Sometimes referred to as purple Mexican tomatoes, they find use anywhere where you would use a tomato and store/winter well somewhere cool. Their papery lanterns should be keep on while picking and storing with removal prior to cooking or if they show signs of mold/decay. May be picked green or white at end of season if needed and allowed to ripen during storage. Direct sow .-1/2 inch (0.5-1 cm) deep and thin to 1 .-2 feet apart (45-60 cm) with rows separated 3 feet (90 cm). They may also be started indoors prior to last frost.
