Description

The dark red colouring of the leaves is a nice addition to salads and may be used in lieu of lettuce in sandwiches. The large

seed plumes make for a showy display in the garden while the seeds maybe prepared for flour. The entire plant can also be used

as a dying agent for textiles and foods – watch out, it will also ‘bleed’ if it snows! Direct sow after last frost . inch (0.5 cm) and

thin to approx. 1 foot (25 cm). Are 2-3 feet (60-90 cm) tall.
